Trips & Expeditions – Epren Academy

Learning Beyond the Classroom

At Epren Academy, we believe that some of the most powerful lessons happen outside the classroom walls.
Our Trips and Expeditions Program is designed to complement academic learning with real-world experiences that inspire curiosity, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of the world.

Each year, pupils across all sections — from Pre-Primary to Senior School — participate in well-planned, age-appropriate trips that connect classroom learning to real life while nurturing responsibility, confidence, and adventure.

1. Purpose of Our Trips

Educational trips at Epren Academy aim to:

  • Reinforce classroom concepts through hands-on learning experiences

  • Develop social skills, teamwork, and leadership

  • Expose learners to Kenya’s cultural, historical, and environmental heritage

  • Encourage independence, discipline, and responsibility

  • Promote appreciation for nature, science, and community service

Every expedition is carefully linked to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) strands such as environmental studies, social sciences, and life skills.

2. Types of Trips & Expeditions

Day Trips

Short, guided visits to enhance classroom topics — such as:

  • Museums and Science Centres (Nairobi National Museum, Bomas of Kenya)

  • Farms and Wildlife Parks for agricultural and ecological studies

  • Factories and Industries to learn about technology and production

  • Local Community Projects for service learning and empathy building

Adventure & Outdoor Expeditions

Outdoor activities that build resilience and teamwork:

  • Hiking and Nature Trails in Karura, Ngong Hills, or national parks

  • Camping Expeditions with scouting and survival skills

  • Team-Building Retreats for leadership and collaboration

Overnight and Regional Trips

Older learners participate in longer expeditions within Kenya. These experiences expand global awareness, independence, and cultural competence.

3. Safety and Supervision

Safety is our top priority. Every trip is planned and approved under strict safety guidelines:

  • Comprehensive risk assessments before travel

  • Qualified teachers and chaperones accompany every group

  • Licensed, insured transport providers with experienced drivers

  • Access to first-aid kits and medical support at all times

  • Parental consent and full pre-trip briefing

Parents can trust that their children travel in a secure, supervised, and caring environment.

4. Learning Through Discovery

Every expedition ends with reflection and project work — pupils document what they observed and share presentations, encouraging deeper learning and communication skills.
Trips aren’t just outings; they’re an extension of our curriculum, helping children see knowledge in action and appreciate the world around them.

5. Memorable Experiences

From a child’s first visit to the animal orphanage to senior students’ leadership camps and innovation tours, every Epren Academy trip is designed to create lasting memories and meaningful growth.

Our goal is to raise learners who are curious, courageous, and globally minded — ready to lead wherever life takes them.
